[jornada] Bootldr on HP Jornada 567

Hello bootldr,

I've had a small problem with my HP Jornada 567 PocketPC device. The
"safe store" is has vanished from my machine. This is how HP call
to the virtual storage card that the unit offers, and whose
content is kept on the remaining 8MB free on the 32MB ROM after
installing PocketPC 2002 that is around 24MB. I believe H37xx and
H38xx Compaq handhelds have an equivalent feature.
It all seems to be due to a corruption of the contents I
had on this flashable space. Doing some research on the web I found
out that it has also happened to other Jornada 56x users as well
as some iPAQs of the 37xx & 38xx series.

I've been able to dump the bootldr and the rest of the 32MB from my
567's ROM using bootblaster and osloader. I can probably get an image
of a working unit (with the safe store). What I need is to be able to
write it back to my machine. Of coursem I was no brave enough to try
the bootloader you guys have developed for iPAQS, since I doubt it
would work directly without prior adaptation.
For more details on the problems there is a thread on brighthand's
forums

What I wanted is some help to make the bootloader work on the
Jornada 56x, or knowing some other way to flash the whole 32MB ROM (or
the part needed to put to zero the contents of the "safe store"). Also
any technical info on the address space of the 32MB ROM would be
appreciated. It seems pretty much the same that on the iPAQ 37xx/38xx.
I have found some details by examining the rom image and following
the contents, but of course I am not completely sure of the limits of
the different chunks.

By the way, I've also thought about using the XIP feature on these
devices, as used on the first upate released for the PocketPC 2002 OS,
to write a part of the ROM.

I hope I've explained myself clearly enough so that you understand
my problem. Any help would be very much appreciated.
