I code, I cycle and I do the obligatory eating and sleeping.
Last year I cycled from San Diego to Corpus Christi with my Jornada. It
was pretty good for keeping my journal and such.
This past Christmas I went to Thailand and was able to code thanks to a
DOS emulator and an old version of Turbo C++. In fact the Jornada helped
make the trip happen because I really had to get some work done... and
lugging a laptop around would have been too much of an infringement on
the vacation mentality. :)
This spring I plan on cycling from San Diego to Vancouver (British
Columbia) and possibly on to a place called Bella Coola. My plan thus
far is to do the DOS emulator and Turbo C++ thing but it would be great
to see how feasable the Linux option would be.
I will watch to see if the power management and touch screen issues get
cleared up - then try it.
I am not an EE type (read; I do not know hardware to save my life)
otherwise I would offer to assist.
I can however; offer my Jornada for a month.
Thanks folks!
Peter
BTW: I run my Jornada with a 256 meg CF Type I (yes; in the bottom) and
I network with a Socket LP-E PC Card.
