RE: [iPAQ] cardctl ident not working

The DAC that digital audio comes out of on an iPaq is a Philips UDA1341.
The Compaq iPaq was codenamed the "bitsy". Until recently, a bunch of code
in the kernel called the device the bitsy. Recently all that was changed to
read h3600 instead. You're referring to two different versions of the same
driver/module, and to answer the original question, neither of these is
related to the Orinoco card. I don't know for sure whether the modprobe
message you see is innocuous or not. It seems like it's pretty easy to get
a kernel and filesystem that don't match module-wise, so it could be that
there's no bitsy-uda1341.so in your /lib/modules tree.

I may be wrong, but I think the 'bitsy-uda1341' driver is for the sound
module for some unknown (to me) device. I changed mine to
'h3600-uda1341' and the module worked on a 3670. Still working on the
sound functionality.

Subject: [iPAQ] cardctl ident not working

Last week I posted a similar message reporting that cardctl did not
report any card info for Orinoco gold card. Since then I have upgraded
my 3135 to fam 0.5 and the latest kernel. "cardctl ident" still reports
no info for the orinoco plus a 3com wireless, cisco wireless and a 3com
10/100. I do however get a report for my Kingston CF with adapter (it
timesout though, but that is a later issue). I think I am missing
something very simple but cannot figure it out.

Here are few reports from bootup:

...
h3600_sleeve_insert: vendorid=0x1125 devid=0xd7c3
h3600_sleeve_insert: unrecognized sleeve // Is this a
problem, or is it taken care of

...
h3600_sleeve_register_driver: registered a driver that matches the
current sleeve Compaq PC Card Sleeve
bitsy-uda1341 modprobe: Can't locate module bitsy-uda1341 // Is this a
related problem?
...

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Todd
