Everyone,
1. After performing the base install of Familiar 0.5pre, using only the
instructions posted on the site, I had a nice working distro. I had to
load the Reiserfs modules, both 'reiserfs-module' and the kernel modules
via IPKG. Proceeded to 'insmod reiserfs'.
2. Sound, ah, sound. Does not work by default. Changed the /etc/modules
to use h3600-uda1341 instead of that other wacky module.
3. Run the beta-installer for intimate. Even with the sound module
changes to /etc/modules and indications it detects the sound hardware on
bootup, I still don't hear sound during this install (the C64 music
sounds like a cool idea, tho.)
So after using FDisk and NOT letting the installer insert the ReiserFS
modules (since I loaded them manually), it installed just fine to the
microdrive. At the end, however, it prompts to write a modified
linuxargs to the bootloader.
This does not work right. Nor does the IPKG intimateboot script.
I can, however, reboot and at the familiar prompt, type 'sh
./linuxrc.initimate' and it will load intimate.
My questions are:
1. Why in the world isn't sound working during the install?
2. Why am I seeing 'Unable to open /dev/h3600_ts' messages multiple
times during the install?
3. What is the correct linuxargs line to pass in the bootloader for this
configuration under familiar 0.5?
Thanks,
Jason
