[iPAQ] touch screen/alternate input mechanism

I understand from the handhleds.org wiki that you are currently working on
the touch screen driver for linux on teh iPAQ.
Could you please tell me:
1. is this is project completed/nearing completion
2. what is the alternate way of taking input currently? is it using the
navigation button?
