Yes there is.
First, get the .ipk file onto the hard disk of the system you are using to
log into the iPAQ via the serial cable.

Then load the ipk file onto the iPAQ via a zmodem transfer.
Using minicom, log into the iPAQ. Run the 'rz' program on
the iPAQ - that stands for 'receive z-modem' I think.
then in Minicom start a z-modem download by Ctrl-S

Onece the package is on the iPAQ then ipkg install file.ipk
where 'file' is the name of your package.
