Hello,
First of all, I'm sorry if this - my first - post is irellevant
to Linux on iPaq, but it seems it's the only place I can find some
knowledgable people to help me.
I have an iPaq H3630 Colour model handheld that I bought on
Monday, second hand. The machine came with v1.68 ROM (it also says P1.07
while booting) and I tried to upgrade it to v1.77. The upgrade would go
fine, but a power failure during the flash progress, rendered the device
unusable. I can only enter the parrot menu now.
I know about the CF restoration routine, but as I do not have a
CF sleeve - yet - and I do not have any friend with an iPaq, I can't
apply the fix. On another board, someone told me that he restored his
machine using the linux bootloader. The problem is that I do not have
the four WinCE ROM files needed for the restoration.
Please do not misunderstand me, I'm not a pirate. That's my real
name, I REALLY need help! Can someone who's reading this message,
contact me and send me the WinCE ROM files, so that I could bring my
iPaq back to life? At least try before taking it to Compaq.
I have a serial sync cradle, a Win98se P166 notebook, ActiveSync
3.5, the v1.77 official upgrade (with the 16MB image) and need help :)
Thank you very much in advance and hoping someone could help me.
