Hello All,

I posted about trying to get my ipaq up and running with the dual
sleeve expansion pack yesterday. I received one helpfull message so I
tried again this morning. This is a long email with the pertinent
question at the bottom, so those with supreme knowledge about the
linuxargs and partition definitions for 2.4.7 and familiar 0.5pre are
encouraged to read the whole posting ... thanks!

Here's what I have done. I have the following files:

bootldr_v2_15_6
bootldr_v2_15_6.md5
task-bootstrap-2.4.7-rmk3-np1-devfs-hh3.jffs2
zImage-2.4.7-rmk3-np1-devfs-hh5

(judging from the lack of md5 files you may correctly presume I didn't
check any others besides the bootldr)

I followed the following steps:

load bootldr
pflash 0 0xffff 1
set linuxargs "noinitrd root=/dev/mtdblock3 init=/linuxrc console=ttySA0"
set copy_ramdisk 0x0
set baudrate 115200
partition reset
partition define kernel 0x80000 0xc0000 0
partition define root 0x140000 0 24
params save
load kernel
load root

These are all the commands I gave to the bootldr.

Then something very peculiar happened. After the upload of the root
jffs image finished nothing happened. Very peculiar. The bootldr did
not begin to count off erasing sectors and the like.

I hit enter and got back the boot> prompt, so I typed boot, the
following then occurred:

boot> boot

It just sits here doing not much (it seems). So I want to ask those
in the know if my set linuxargs command is correct notice mtdblock3
not mtdblock/3 and if the partition define kernel 0x80000 0xc0000 0
partition define root 0x140000 0 24 are correct. (I have a 16MB rom
unit.) I found these values on the
http://www.handhelds.org/z/wiki/Doing%20a%20fresh%20install%20using%20Linux%202.4.7%20as%20the%20base
page.

Cheers and thanks,

Mark.
