Hi, I have an Ipaq 3135 (monochrome) and would like to run Linux on
it. Are there step by step installation instructions available? My
understanding is that the Familiar distribution only works on the 3600
series and for the monochrome unit I need a different kernel. Any
advice would be appreciated.
Also, I'm interested to know how well supported the audio device is in
Linux, and what features it has. My hope is to write a web phone
application for the Ipaq.
Finally, can somonee tell me if it's reasonable to want to run Python
on the 3135? That is, with just the 16 MB of ram shared between the
kernel, window system, Python interpreter, and my application (a
Python framework/GUI with some C objects linked in via SWIG). The CF
slot would be filled by the modem or network adapter, so I wouldn't be
able to use a flash card. However, I wouldn't need to run anything
but the webphone program with the slot filled, so I wouldn't need any
significant amount of other utilities (except for a few kb of
configuration files) in the ram when running that way.
Thanks
Paul
