I am using an upgraded IPAQ as follows:
RAM upgraded to 64mb
ROM upgraded to 32mb
When I install the bootloader and the jffs2 file image, everything
appears to load correctly. I get the correct values as shown on the
installation page. I noticed that with pre5 it goes through a routine
of checking jffs2 and my lcd goes dark and the front light flashes
green.
Upon booting it (issuing the command boot), I see the daemons/services
load on the serial screen (in minicom) on redhat 7.1. But with the last
loaded services seeming to be pcmcia, I cannot get the ipaq to accept
any keyboard commands in the serial console session. I have a working
bootloader and saved the settings as required. I have tried flashing
the root file system a few times now; first in windows 98 and now in
linux.
On the IPAQ screen is the penguin and a white flashing block but I do
not see any daemons/services loading on that display.
I was able to quite successfully get 0.4 to work before the ROM upgrade
and several people had informed me that Linux would see the 32mb of
flash rom with no problems. Is this an issue with the rom upgrade or
something I am perhaps missing in doing the installation? I followed
the instructions at:
http://familiar.handhelds.org/familiar/feeds/unstable/install/H3600/install.

Prior to getting the CRL/OHH bootloader installed I did all the steps to
save the flash files, etc.
Thanks!
