[iPAQ] orinoco with 2.4.7 probs

Hay all again,

okay, a while ago i played with some prism2 cards (dlink, etc.) and
never got them to work with the ipaq. I attributed it to the crappy
state of drivers for the prism2 stuff. But...

Now i have got a real orinoco gold card, and the same stuff is
happening. so here we go.. Basically my problem is bieng described by
this discussion here:
http://lists.samba.org/pipermail/wireless/2001-September/003141.html
Whenever I try to send out packets the other systems see unrecognizable
packets.

Now my main problem is this, if you read the link, there is a fix.
Unfortunatly, the current 2.4.7 orinoco module is not up to date
(doesn't have the nice use_alternate_encaps switch built in). Right now
I am attempting to build the module on the skiffs with the bytes
manually changed, but I have to-date not been able to compile a kernel
or modules for the ipaq, so we will see.

But the main reason for this e-mail is to request that the newer orinoco
source gets folded into our mix (ahaid of the 2.4.9 release where I've
confirmed has the newer version) or if anyone has a working cross kernel
setup, could they pleeeeaaaaassseeeee do the manual tweak and post it
compiled as a temp fix??????

Thanks everyone,

Robert Stellhorn
