Well, without wanting to offend anyone, that is rather 'unfriendly'.
Surely it should be the user's choice what the brightness is set to ...
I think that limiting the possibilities only makes Linux look
'incorrect'.
And I agree with Russ Nelson, allowing a darker minimum would also be
good. The software should allow any value that the hardware can handle.
Maybe some indication of how much power is being used at minimum/maximum
brightness would be more informative to end-users.
Is it possible to 'correct' the kernel code - should anyone (i.e. me)
want to roll their own kernel? i.e. which file(s) need modification?
