[iPAQ] Speaker bypass fix?

Recently bought a 3135, and after a few uses of the headphone jack, the
built-in speaker never turns on anymore. I've done some reading online,
and it appears to be a fairly common problem among the iPaqs.

I am wondering how other people have solved this problem. I would rather
not send the unit back if I can help it. Is it something that I can fix
by myself? Or is it more trouble than it's worth?
