Hi,
I have an iPAQ H3670 (64MB US) and I am trying to install Linux.
So far I have been able to save the flash (verifying the md5sums with
the second set posted on [1]). After futzing around, I got minicom on
Linux to talk with the osloader on the iPAQ so I have "boot>". I type
"load bootldr" and then start sending bootldr-0000-2.14.8 via xmodem.
(minicom uses sx -vv to send.) A whole bunch of messages scroll by in
the dialog box too quickly to read. It stops with the following lines:
Xmodem sectors/kbytes sent: 788/98kRetry 0: NAK on sector
Retry 0: NAK on sector
No ACK on EOT
Transfer incomplete
READY: press any key to continue...
Nothing every happens on the iPAQ. In particular, I do not see
"verifying ... done.". Thus I suspect that the bootloader is not
properly installed. However, "peek flash 0x0" prints EA00008E and
"peek flash 0x20" prints 646C7462 as it should. Naturally, I am
nervous about continuing on with the installation process.
Is bootldr installed or not? If it isn't, what should I do next?
(Repeating the process doesn't get me anywhere.) If it is, is it safe
to continue?
