I rebuilt a kernel from the source tarball off the handhelds.org
instructions. I tried to load it. It appeared to load ok, but it won't
boot. During boot the console spews a lot of messages about no
permissions to modify /dev/*.
Why would the kernel be modifying these files during boot? I added SIR
support. Is it trying to make a /dev/ node for IR, and it can't because
of the flash file system?
I have no problems with the image provided on the web site.
TIA
