Hello,

After seeing mention that the Socket LP works with the iPAQ, I
purchased one. It arrived yesterday with my CF sleeve and it's working
great. Here are some notes I made that I have also added to:

  Ruggedized Socket LP ethernet card[1]

Works out-of-the-box with v0.15, just plug it in and the network
comes up. Of course you will want to adjust settings in
  /etc/pcmcia/network.opts, (add an IPADDR="xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx" setting
if you don't use DHCP). Here are some of my observations (based on
about a half hour of playing around):

o It has sometimes momentarily locked up the machine on
insertion, but pulling it out and putting it back in seems
to work. (After the failure I see the message "modprobe:
Can't locate module memory_cs"). When it works it loads the
          modules pcnet_cs, 8390, ds, sa1100_cs, and pcmcia_core.

        o I'm glad I bought the ruggedized version, (non-removable
cable), since I have to tug on the cable to get the card out
of the sleeve -- it seems like it would be awfully hard to
remove the standard card with the clip-in cable.

o I have seen a small amount of packet loss with console
messages, "eth0: interrupt(s) dropped!", but generally the
          performance seems very good.
