I am running 2.4.5-ac9, and usbnet still causes my machine to halt complete
from time to time.....
Did you have this problem, and if so how did you get around it?

What kernel are you using on the PC side? I think you need something
like 2.4.3 or newer for usbnet to work right.
It's working for me in 2.4.4
