If ssh is not available to you on your desktop/laptop,
and if you are able to assign an external tcp/ip address to your ipaq,
you may want to try telnetting into the skiffcluster (e.g.
skiffcluster3.handhelds.org
username and password both 'guest') and using 'ssh' from there to access
your ipaq.

Convoluted I know but sometimes hacking a handheld is the only way ;)

Good luck,
Greg

Thanks for the help to all who pointed me at ssh--
will go try it.

Problem is that at present I'm dead in the water till I can
go connect to the IPAQ,
gentle suggestion to the familiar folks to help keep things
familiar --dont turn off telnet by default please?
