Never tried any of this (except Linux and Emac), but it sounds
reasonable. But the floating point problem will give you a hard time.

As the hh.org distribution was declared dead, there is only one:
familiar, and it's the best.

Yes, there is an (outdated) package. Last time I checked the driver for
the keyboard has some problems with sleep/resume and unloading.

AS there is only one, this is not a problem. QPE is currently going to
support familiar and with any luck familiar will become the standard
implementation for embedded Linux (*).

No, but there is the intimate project, that tries to make debian for
iPaq (with a compatibility layer for familiar support). The goal of
intimate is to make debian ready for iPaq/Linux embedded.

If you have enough space (e.g. microdrive or NFS mount) you can install
Debian/ARM on the iPaq. That's what intimate does.
(search for intimate on www.handhelds.org)
Goetz.
