What pointer? What version of qpe are you using?

Yes. It would seem that you are running an older version of the handhelds.org
kernel which has a screen blanking bug. Familiar's v0.4 kernel also suffers
from this bug. You'll need to install a more recent kernel and modules. I'm
not sure if the Familiar folks have been distributing recent snapshots of the
familiar kernel...?? But if so, then that is one possible source. The
alternative is to get the current sources from CVS and build a new kernel
yourself.
