Boy, it'd be really nice if the iPAQ supported a smart external
interface. It would only need three pins instead of two. That way,
the processor could tell whether it was getting its power from an
external battery pack and an AC adaptor. The reason you'd want to is
because you wouldn't want to charge the internal battery from an
external battery. It's too inefficient.

Is there any way to tell the internal battery not to charge from the
external power jack? That's really all we'd need.
