Hello All,
I am looking for (1) web browsers and (2) email clients for
Linux-on-Handhelds devices. Perusing the archives and various other
Linux-on-Handhelds sites, I see there are ViewML, WML Browser, and Opera
browsers available. Is this the currently "comprehensive" list? I'm
figuring, with keyboard input, I can get lynx to run in an xterm. Is this
realistic?
As for mail clients, I'm expecting even less luck finding anything. Again,
there's mail/elm/pine running in an xterm. Realistic?
Is it realistic to expect I can compile the K-Desktop's web browser and/or
mail client (or any other available source) and get it to run on a
Linux-iPAQ? Or is it too soon in the development of the system for such an
undertaking?
I'm not looking for a full-blown mobile web/mail navigating solution.
Rather, I've to report on the feasibility of such applications on these
devices. If I could get some kind of software that provides *some* kind of
web/email access, it would help me test other related server-side stuff. If
anyone has any suggestions, I'd be most appreciative.
Thanks for the input,
Raj
