Sorry, I just remember someone mentioning it here on the list, or maybe the
handhelds or Linux list. It was just mentioned in passing. I think he was
talking about a third party product, not a Compaq sleeve.
Personally, I would like a cradle/sleeve combination. The cradle would
connect to the serial, USB, expansion and power connector on the iPaq.
Inside the cradle would be a battery, SA-1111 and support circuitry, 2+ USB
ports, external power port, serial port, PCMCIA and CF slots. It would
have a connector for a DaVinci type keyboard. Finally, it would fold flat
for easy storage.
Something like that (more of a docking station than a cradle) would turn an
iPaq into a micro laptop and it would still be small. You could expand it
however you wanted (PCMCIA CD-ROM, Hard Drives, any USB device, etc.).
If someone were to produce something like that in the $200 range they would
not be able to keep them in stock.
