[iPAQ] rebuild kernel => boot problems

You don't need to rebuild the kernel to get PPP working. If you're
very anxious, you can make all the changes in /etc without having to
reflash anything, (of course, you'll lose the changes if you run out
of battery or power-cycle the iPAQ).
