Serial cables/cradles are beginning to appear with some regularity in
the distribution channels. We've also ordered a bunch to be able to give
to people to ease the shortage for Linux people since it is not possible
to just use USB yet: we had hoped this order would be here well before
now, but it sounds like the right holy water got sprinked on our order
only recently.
It is also clear that the backlog is large enough that it will take a while
for it to be worked through.
In the meantime, I have a small number I've gotten through retail channels,
and we hope that our larger order will come through by the end of the month.
So if you need a serial cable, please send me the following information:
1) name
2) shipping address and phone number
3) how many you would like, how many you absolutely have to have to get
going.
4) what you are doing with your iPAQ, so I can make some judgement calls
about where to send the cables I have.
5) whether you are incompetant with a soldering iron (really can't make
one yourself from a USB cradle).
Thanks,
