I built the kernel with the toolchain available from handhelds.org, doing a
make config, then make dep, then make zImage, and I'm booting with the
vmlinux file from arch/arm/boot/compressed

I added debugging options (Kernel - not very useful I think / Serial) to the
original configuration from Compaq, and a call to printascii in the printk
function to trace the problem ...
