Tom,
I have heard the Compaq is not planning on combining the blackberry technology
with the Pocket PC technology. It is technically possible to do, but they feel
the market is too small to be worth their time. This may have to be a project
for some other interested party (know any electrical or computer engineers?).
As for the Cypaq, that is nothing more than a rebranded Compaq Dual Expansion
Jacket. Cynet (or whatever the name of that company was) could not actually get
the Cypaq to work. What they showed at Comdex only worked in one of the two
bays, but it looked good, and if no one asked too many questions, you never
noticed that it did not work. The Pocket PC's OS could not handle the two
ports, and that is why Compaq had to do it, since they could upgrade the device
to handle the dual slot. There is a great article about this on Brighthand.com,
so check it out.
