Hi:
I noticed that most of the skiffcluster machines have been upgraded
and are using GCC 2.95.3 (except skiffcluster6, which is still 2.95.1).
I see that the optimization bug is still present, and is even more
subtle with 2.95.3. When compiling -02 with 2.95.1 you'd sometimes
get an assembler error complaining about IMM8_OFFSET. However,
2.95.3 will happily compile the same source -02 without complaint.
But when you run the executable, it segfaults. I know a few of us
on this list have run into this problem. :)
Are there any plans to update GCC to a presumably 'fixed' version?
(I have no idea what version of GCC actually fixes this problem, though)
Thanks.
