hi,
i just got my hands on an ipaq 3650, and man, tres cool! i'm now trying
to get linux on the beast, and dutifully following the wince restore
instructions.
however, after creating and copying the images across to a windows box, i
md5sum the images and doh! the checksums are different than those
referenced in the restore page. here's what i see:
$ md5sum.exe flash*
a86e02bb596c4f506e539199def4fcaa *flash_00000000.bin
56c22ec2a4c4e49ab7fed81c81e28f7a *flash_00400000.bin
471b67d2a5f0585478633ef12899582b *flash_00800000.bin
f7cef96cd1fd1923c2e1f4f1c17f3f46 *flash_00c00000.bin
and, following the last image files specific instructions, i see:
$ dd if=flash_00c00000.bin bs=1024 count=3584 |md5sum
3584+0 records in
3584+0 records out
c8fb012788d31cb03972762ec2f6d586 *-
my question is this: as these checksums don't match, should i worry about
the restore procedure (if necessary) working correctly?
vitals: my 3650 is running wince v3.0.9348, build 9616, has 32M of ram.
should i be worried about the success of a restore?
thanks!
bob
