Greetings,
I'd like to announce the official availability of the Familiar
bleeding-edge tree, that will develop into Familiar v0.4 in the up
and coming weeks. This tree consists of the latest and greatest bits,
some working, some not, but all interesting.
This release needs your help. The following functionality is being merged,
or has already been merged (->) into the tree:
* The latest Tiny-X server, and supporting libraries/client.
-> * Updated Python 2.0, w/ full XML support, and added packages.
* Latest libraries and binaries from Debian.
* The latest release of the Familiar Framework.
* Mingle v0.2 (not yet released).
-> * Pyditor, the PyScintilla based text editor.
-> * Deep sleep/resume.
* Christopher Cole's vi replacement, iv.
Because of the above large changes (with more to come), we need quite a bit of
testing. So if you're daring, now is the time to start. I'd like to get
a release out by the end of April, which I think is totally possible.
At the same time, I'm also looking for enhancement requests. If you have
suggestions, complaints, nits to pick, or whatever, send mail to me (or better
yet, the lists), so we can take a look.
