[iPAQ] Linux no longer starts

The whole sequence of the installation instructions went fine, and I had
X running. The first thing I noticed was that the calibration was way
off, so I found that on the popup menu and ran it. Each crosshair
disappeared after one tap but required several more taps to move to the
next step, and when X returned each tap on the screen toggled the
screen orientation. I thought there might be a sticky control bit
somewhere, so I rebooted with shutdown -f now. The system came back up
with everything apparently fixed, only this time after a couple of taps X
died in a barrage of messages and the system shut down.

Perhaps foolishly, I tried to restart it. After toggling the power
switch, it came back up but failed to boot. Output below starts at the
first reboot (sorry, short terminal history).

Thanks!
Adam
