I don't want to any hopes, but I'd double check the settings of my
terminal program to be: 115200 8N1, no hard-/software handshake.
You should be able to get into the bootloader using the correct
settings (by pressing SPACE). To all my knowledge it's not necesarry
to reboot after loading the bootloader.
