It's probably a big waste of memory. If you want QPE on X11, just port it.
There isn't much to it - in fact it's been done partially a few times
already. The main extra thing you'll need is a QCOP server (just snarf code
from Qt/Embedded, it's GPLed), since QPE applications send DCOP-like messages
to each other (eg. they get a message when the timezone changes).
