        Did you use the handhelds.org distribution, or the pocketlinux.com
distribution? Frequently, people say pocketlinux when they mean
handhelds.org - they use the same kernel source base, but they are different
distributions. If you installed the handhelds.org stable distribution
(v0.20), what file versions (init, root, usr, zimage) did you use? Did you
have Linux running on your iPAQ prior to this? If so, what version?

Subject: [iPAQ] Kernel hang problem

I have just installed the latest stable version of pocketlinux onto my
iPaq 3650, but the kernel hangs on boot. I have double-checked the
session to be sure there were no typos (can't find any, but...).
Basically, the last few lines of text I get before the system hangs are:

command line is: noinitrd root=/dev/mtdblock4 init=/linuxrc
console=ttySA0
linuxEntryPoint=C0008000
Booting Linux image
Uncompressing Linux....................................... done, booting
the ker
nel.

I get the Tux logo on the screen, but nothing else. The iPaq does not
respond to keystrokes from the keyboard (I'm using Hyperterminal and
have had no connection issues up to this point), or from the screen. Any
ideas?
