It's been a goal of mine for sometime to make a bootloader that can boot
from CF/PCMCIA. I am currently using a modified version of BLOB (which
does not have this functionality) but I am looking to add it soon. For
Brutus, who has no large amount of Flash to hold the RAMDISK this would
speed boot times greatly (vs. using serial port).

One issue is(for those of us using something other than an iPaq) making
sure to enable any special registers needed for PCMCIA/CF operation and so
on.

A second consideration would be the partitioning of the data in the
CF/PCMCIA card (what gets put where, if the first locations contain
information for the OS or information on what OSes are in the card, etc).

A third thing would be which cards are supported (linear/non-linear,
etc.).

Thanks,
Vasant.
