Hi list,
I had some fun getting the ARM Bootloader (2.21.12) on my (older) iPAQ 3850
Following
http://familiar.handhelds.org/releases/v0.8.4/install/bootldr-synce.html
I had to adjust a couple of things in order to get synce-pcp working.
For the record:
/etc/ppp/peers/synce-device file looks now like this:
/dev/ttyUSB0 115200
connect '/usr/sbin/chat -v -f /etc/ppp/peers/ipaq.chat'
nodefaultroute
noauth
local
192.168.131.102:192.168.131.201
ms-dns 192.168.131.102
crtscts
linkname synce-device
/etc/ppp/peers/ipaq.chat is a 3 liner:
TIMEOUT 3600
"" "CLIENT\c"
"" "SERVER\c"
After that I was able to load & install the ARM Bootloader, but now I am
stuck (for 2 days)
I get the ARM Bootloader screen up and when trying to launch the "Serial
Bootloader Console" I see nothing but weird characters scrolling by on
the right-side of my minicom screen...
So I tried the CF Reflash tool (when booting the WinCE part I can see
the 3 files (bootopie, reflasf & md5) so the card is okay and the device
is able the read the CF, however when back at the bootloader level I get
a disappointing "No PCMCIA card found.."
Somebody can help me getting either minicom to behave or the CF thingie
to work?
The iPAQ sits in a cradle with USB/Serial cable.
Thanks
Peter
