Hi Paul,

Appreciate the reply and the tip. For info:
1. COM 1 is free and solely used by the serial connection to the iPAQ cradle.
ActiveSync is not running. I used Windows task Manager/Processes to end
process of WCE......
2. hypertrm.exe was at 115200 bps, 8, N, 1, and no flow control or handshaking
3. Tried pressing enter on the PC several times as well as the calendar button
on the iPAQ.

There is no "boot>" on the terminal window. Displayed is just a blinking
vertical cursor, no reaction to any keyboard entry (including enter). I have
tried hostii.exe (but I have no usb connector from the cradle) so that was
kinda stu... of me, I have tried mtty.exe with the same results. I have tried
sliding battery switch to off, soft/hard reset, pressing center of joypad with
reset, button combination with reset. I have tried removing the battery
connection by removing the back cover using a T6 Torx driver and reinstalling.

I am actually going desperate coz my daughter is anxious (ber birthday will be
in April 24) to show it to her friends (will be guests). I can't buy a
replacement since this was a gift from a good friend in Europe; I can't send
it back for repairs (he may no longer want me to be a friend); I don't know of
any Compaq Service in the Philippines; and honestly, nobody here in the
Philippines seem to know what to do with it other than use it as a
paperweight.

Again, thanks and sorry for the litany. Hope to hear from you again.

Happy Easter and regards from the Philippines.

Louie
