Had a couple of 3xxx's where former owner had tampered with the
connectors and misfitted the flat cable connector to the lcd. Also done
it myself a few times, but it can be fixed. Misfitting the lcd cable can
result in a screen with colored horizontal lines or a whitewashed, very
slow screen where os messages are barely visible. First thing I would do
is check the internals, the connectors and screws for signs of wear.
