Hi,

I have a Compaq ipaq h3850 and I loaded familiar linux 0.8.4 a few months
back. I loved linux, but I've decided to go back to pocket pc. However, I
am having trouble restoring pocket pc on my ipaq.

I used the following instructions to restore pocket pc:

http://handhelds.org/moin/moin.cgi/RestoringPocketPc

I downloaded a Pocket PC image from
http://handhelds.org/download/feeds/wince/ (h3800_image.gz) and followed the
instructions for restoring via Compact Flash. However, I cannot get past
step 7 (method B from
http://handhelds.org/moin/moin.cgi/RestoringPocketPc). The boot loader says
it is "loading file" but does nothing from this point. After a few hours
still no progress. (I'm using bootloader 2.21.12 by the way).

I decided to try the restore method via serial cable to see if I would have
better luck. Using Hyperterminal in Windows XP, I setup Hyperterminal
according to the instructions outlined. Then uploaded the WinCE image using
Ymodem. The file starts transferring but after about 45-50minutes, my
Hyperterminal says "No response from remote system".

Could you please offer any suggestions as to what I might be doing wrong.

Thanks so much,

Justin
