Hello. I have an ipaq 5555 and I was fearful I had ended up with a brick
after an unsuccessful linux install that had left my ipaq completely
un-rebootable. After following your advice about removing the battery
from the unit for several days I am happy to report I have a functioning
ipaq again. The only problem is that it is still running windows :(
My question is this....what do you suggest I do to complete a successful
install? I had followed all the instructions for the ipaq 5555 step by
step and had even received the message that I had a valid boot file but
after the reboot (push joypad button while soft resetting which caused
it to buzz, then pressing the calendar button, etc.) I ended up with
nothing....just back to Windows. Is there someone I can send this to so
they can install it for me???? I see where you say I can send it to be
restored if something goes wrong but what about someone who will do the
install? The unit is already out of warranty and I really don't care if
they end up making it a brick (I was going to buy a Zaurus anyway), I
just want to give it one last shot. Any suggestions??
