[iPAQ] 5450 battery dead, can it be charged outside the iPaq?

Everyone,

It seems I ran into an issue I have seen discussed on this list a
number of times, and hoped to never experience. I basically drained
the battery of my 5450 to a point that it won't even complain by
buzzing any more. It's just completely dead.

Following the compiled advice of a number of earlier postings I am
currently going through the process of reconnecting and disconnecting
power, removing and reinserting the battery, and pressing buttons and
reset switches until my fingers are sore. I've had no luck so far, but
I'll keep you posted.

A thought that crossed my mind however, is that a possible solution is
charging the main battery outside the iPaq, which I know is possible
for a number of other models (like my 2210). I've spent some time
googling for an "external charger" for the 5xxx servies, but wasn't
able to find anything useful. As the members of this list are usually
a few steps beyond the average iPaq user, I was wondering if anyone
here has had any experience with this.

If so, I know one person who would be very interested ;)

Thanks in advance,

Rutger van Bergen
