[iPAQ] Power button suspend mode, familiar v0.7.2

Hi All,

I searched the wiki site to find info on the power button, and was
directed to the page <handhelds.org/moin/moin.cgi/IpaqPowerButton>.

I followed the instructions in option "a" (option "b" suggests a kernel
modification), to

% echo 1 > /proc/sys/ts/suspend_button_mode

to no avail. The user "root" gets the error message:

-sh: cannot create /proc/sys/ts/suspend_button_mode: Directory
non-existent

But I see other files in that directory, although they have size 0.

Is the wiki page outdated (pre-v0.7.2)? Is it post-v0.7.2?
Is my only solution to modify the kernel?

Any/all help appreciated.
