[iPAQ] Linux 2.6

I was left on the idea that the 2.6 Linux kernel was not usable on iPaqs,
but I suspect I might be wrong. Can someone tel me if it is worth trying it
on a h3800 series? And if so, which config base should I take (maybe
defconfig-ipaq-pxa-2.6_2.6.8.1-hh0 from OpenEmbedded?)?
