If you unload the driver:
modprobe -rv at76c503-rfmd
and then re-load it:
modprobe -v at76c503-rfmd
what do you see from "logread" or "dmesg"? My output appended.
Also, what does:
dmesg | grep hub
say?
One final thing to try: take the battery out for a few minutes and try
again. There is an issue where sometimes the root hub thinks it has no
ports, which would mean it can't see the wifi card. Removing the battery
for a bit always cured it for me.
cheers,
c.
