[iPAQ] Documentation, battery, kernel (was: Latest versions)

Thanks for the answers, I have successfully installed Familiar 0.8/GPE and
played with it for a week (I do not do anything serious before I can get a
SD card and a bluetooth dongle). I have some questions, about the iPaq in
general, and Familiar in particular.

First, where can I find the bootloader documentation? My guess is that by
default it boots /boot/zImage with /boot/params and some autodetected MTD
parameters as command line: is it right? How can I select different options
for one boot only? Is the bootloader source code available?

Has the battery reading improved since the FAQ at <URL:
http://www.handhelds.org/handhelds-faq/ > ? /proc/asic/battery is currently
showing 1727 mAh as "Accumulated current", and 1343 mAh for "Full level" and
"Derated full level", which one should I trust? Is it possible to do a
recalibration test of the battery?

(For those who did not keep my previous mails, which is quite legitimate, I
mention that I have a second-hand H3870. BTW, where are the archives for
this list? <URL: http://www.handhelds.org/pipermail/ipaq/ > is not up to
date at all, and <URL: http://www.handhelds.org/hypermail/ipaq/current/ >,
which is linked from the subscription form, does not exist.)

I tried and failed to find the source code for the Familiar distribution:
the packages specs and patches. The CVS/svn directories at handhelds.org are
almost empty. Where can I get them? What I most importantly want is the
kernel patches and .config.

If I plug the cradle on the USB port, I get the following kernel messages on
the host computer (on which the other USB devices work perfectly):

usb 1-1.1: new full speed USB device using ohci_hcd and address 4
usb 1-1.1: device descriptor read/64, error -110
usb 1-1.1: device descriptor read/64, error -110
usb 1-1.1: new full speed USB device using ohci_hcd and address 5
usb 1-1.1: device descriptor read/64, error -110
usb 1-1.1: device descriptor read/64, error -110

(errno.h tells me that ETIMEDOUT is 110, for what it's worth.)

I have the following USB-related loaded modules on the iPaq (I do not know
if other modules are important, I have the full list, but this mail is
  already quite long) :

usb-eth 5916 0 (unused)
sa1100usb_core 16088 0 [usb-eth]

Does this error mean something to someone?

Is it possible to get statistics about the flash-memory sectors wear?

Well, I think there are enough questions in this mail. I wish a happy new
year to everyone to whom it is relevant, and a happy not-new year to the
others.

Regards,
