[iPAQ] h3850 bricked with familiar 0.8 ?

Hi,

I just tried the new 0.8 gpe image on my 3850 ("load root" with
gpe-image-h3600-20041223123609.rootfs.jffs2), the first boot seemed OK,
but the stylus wasn't calibrated at all (and I saw no calibrating
screen) so I couldn't enter the root password. I resetted it and now it
totally refuses to boot: it is stuck on the bootloader screen, and
doesn't boot linux nor the serial console.
I can't reset it while connected to the serial port, so I tried to plug
it right after having resetted it, and here is what's printed through
the serial port:

7957901C

.. and that's all.

Does anyone have an idea ?
