While we're on the topic of imlib, I've started playing around with trying
to get GNOME going in my spare time. Right now I've just been building the
libraries and some small apps on the skiffcluster and seeing how they go.
I have gnome-libs and libxml built and they seem to be working fine right
now. I have gdk-pixbuf built, but I haven't done any testing on it yet to
see if it works properly on a 12-bit display. I have the control-center
built and most of the capplets work, although a couple segfault and I need
to take a look at those. Also, I have libgtop and gtop built, but it
segfaults on startup after complaining about fonts. Most of the stock
fonts seem to be installed, though, so I'm not really sure what's up with
that (and haven't really looked in detail). gnome-core (the panel, et al)
is next on my list.

Once Mark has imlib going on the 12-bit display, I'll try setting up Xnest
so I can test the rest of the stuff. Mark, if you have some time, can you
take a look at gdk-pixbuf and see how it'll behave on a 12-bit display,
since I know you've looked at it before.

I've also been trying to get a cross-build environment going on my laptop
so I can build things quickly there. Does all the pocketlinux stuff work
okay (the cross-compiler, the glibc, etc.) with the handhelds.org
stuff? Setting up a build environment is a real pain in the butt. :) Oh,
also, does anyone know how to tell libtool what linker, assembler, and
stuff to use? I am tired of having to edit the libtool script and changing
ld to /opt/tvt/bin/arm-linux-ld and such.
