[iPAQ] IrDA for network connection?

Since the PCMCIA expansion card is hard to come by (saw one on eBay for
$1,250!) I was thinking about getting one of those IrDA to Ethernet boxes
(like this one http://www.extendsys.com/products/infrared/jeteyenet.html) to
connect my iPaq to our network. Has anyone tried this? Is the IR port
supported with the current build?
