hi again,

jimmysoftware.com has after over a month of work concluded (sadly) that
there is no way to detect multiple simultaneous button presses on
the current ipaq hardware. :-(

in related news they have discovered how to overclock the ipaq to
236MHz (they say). no info yet on how or what the success rate is
or addition power consumption.

I want to play Doom dangit! (under linux of course)

I don't think Doom would be a problem. Get one of the "thumb trackballs"
that fit on your hand like a ring. I think I paid $20 for mine. Plug it
into the RS-232 port. You now have a mouse! X was made for the mouse.

Doom works better with a mouse anyway! This should also work for xmame
games that use a mouse (mmm...centitpede, missile command, marble
madness...). When xmame is ported to the iPaq, mouse support for *ALL*
games needs to be added.
