Hello,
yesterday, I created an 'opie-image' using OE (machine = 3900, distro
= familiar) for my IPAQ 5550 devices. This has worked fine in the past
(more or less), however my newly created image won't let me use the
built-in WLAN device:
dmesg reports, that the drivers were loaded without a problem:
at76_usbdfu.c: USB Device Firmware Upgrade (DFU) handler
v0.12beta22-static loading
at76c503.c: Generic Atmel at76c503/at76c505 routines v0.12beta22-static
at76c503-fw_skel.c: Atmel at76c503 (RFMD) Wireless LAN Driver
v0.12beta22-static loading
usb.c: registered new driver at76c503-rfmd
iwconfig however does not find any usable devices:
lo no wireless extensions.
ipsec0 no wireless extensions.
ipsec1 no wireless extensions.
ipsec2 no wireless extensions.
ipsec3 no wireless extensions.
sit0 no wireless extensions.
usbf no wireless extensions.
irda0 no wireless extensions.
ifup wlan0, of course, fails too:
Error for wireless request "Set Mode" (8B06) :
SET failed on device wlan0 ; No such device.
SIOCSIFADDR: No such device
SIOCSIFNETMASK: No such device
SIOCGIFFLAGS: No such device
I tried rebooting the device, rmmod'ing and re-insmod'ing the modules
to no use. Does anyone have an idea what could be wrong here?
Thanks,
Oliver
